T.E.A.M R.I.S.E a Community Interest Company supports anyone residing in East Lancashire who has a learning disability, is vulnerable or socially isolated.

This great projecthas had a great impact on a wide number of people and has supported people with learning disabilities in all areas of their lives, with particular focus on building people’s confidence and encouraging them to become active members of their communities, along with support to research employment opportunities and look at the tools needed to becoming employed.

The people who attend this project have developed a great sense of self-worth, accredited learning certificates and above all new friends. Some of those on the courses we have facilitated have now found voluntary work and in three cases paid employment, which is fantastic.

Many people do not use services like they did in the past and although his can be a good thing many people have told us they feel lonely and have little to do, projects like the one we run certainly help alleviate these problems.

We offer learning support each Monday, where people can develop their English skills and know this aspect of our project will be a great advantage to the people who attend.

Every Wednesday we run a craft and enterprise group where people create some beautiful gifts which we sell to raise funds, other members of this group also organsie fund raising events, again bringing in essential funds. We have created an environment where vulnerable people can come along to and feel safe whilst helping themselves and others in our community.

Friday is the day we just have fun! We organise social outings on a weekly basis and have enjoyed trips to Manchester, Blackpool, theatre trips and many other activities. It is a pleasure to see this group out and about enjoying themselves and experiencing a variety of activities that they may not have the chance to if they were not part of this project.
